Shamita Bhowmik was born and brought up in India. During her childhood, she loved to read Famous Five by Enid Blyton. When she read her favorite books, she was oblivion to her natural surroundings. As she grew up, her taste in books changed from adventure, detective to romance but her love for books grew stronger.
She believes that books are her greatest treasures. They are her companions who always stay by her side and gives her immense pleasure. Other than reading books, she likes to play badminton, listen to music and go for a leisure walk out in nature.
She has an M.A in English Literature and a Diploma in Mass Communication. She has worked as a Professional Freelance Writer for more than twelve years for individuals and organizations around the world.
She started creating stories to entertain her child. That inspired her to start writing fiction for kids. She also wrote a book for her adult readers. Her recent book: 'A Bouquet of Charming Tales' is based on her life experiences and the life of other people she has known.
